Historical Figures of Qing China
The Qing Dynasty: from Forbidden City to Glorious Revolution.
Likely the oldest organized culture on earth, the ancient imperial history of China came to an end due to the combined interference of European powers and the ineptitude and senility of its last dynastic rulers, the Qing. In spite of their nomadic heritage, the Qing built much of today's Forbidden City. After the nationalistic Boxer Rebellion failed, the young Pu Yi, the Empress Dowager Cixi (Tzu Hsi) and the Qing court were too ineffectual to maintain rule.
It is remarkable how China’s power and vitality have been reborn once again through the bloody “Glorious Revolution" of Mao Zedong and the isolation of Chiang Kai Shek. Perhaps the Peoples Republic of China is now on its way to building a new imperial future.
